well, it's been a while

I haven't posted in this thing in forever. Sorry. I am going to make a habit of it again.

In interesting punk news this week, a prehistoric species of bird was named after the band Lucero, and These Arms Are Snakes, who are easily in my top five favorite bands of all time, broke up. :( I am very bummed, but thankful that I was able to see them live twice and meet all of the band members except for vocalist Steve Snere. I think I will air the interview that I did with them again next week. RIP.

Good shows that you should go to this weekend:
January 15: Dinosaur Jr & Kurt Vile at Daniel Street in Milford. The show is 21+ and is $20 in advance or $22 at the door. Doors are at 8pm, I think.
January 16: Algernon Cadwallader (from Philadelphia) at the Vernon Teen Center in Vernon. 6pm, $5. Also playing with Chalk Talk (CT), Black Churches (MA), Ape Up (MA), Zona Mexicana (NY), Acres (NJ), Mad Men (MA)

last show of summer vacation =(

I'm exhausted from being on a leadership retreat for the last two days. Good times were had (kinda) but the last two days have seriously lacked some good music. So luckily my show happened right after the retreat ended. Awesome? Well, I think so.

Next week I'm playing lots of songs about summer or with summer in the title to celebrate the end of summer and, uh... [insert word here that would be the opposite of celebrate] the beginning of the school year. Woo!

(Did you know that woo stands for "winning others over"? Never knew that til today on the retreat. I think that is the one useful thing I learned. Cool.)
